This poem focuses on the ‘Ark’ that held and protected the baby Moses in the Bible. It was a huge assignment for a seemingly insignificant creation, but the lesson is simple. God does not look at stature or size. All He needs is a willing vessel. The story is from Exodus 2: 1-10.
Mighty little Ark floating on the river
Carrying our precious little deliverer
Made with papyrus, pitch, and tar
Embodying the fervent love of a mother
Mighty little Ark resting among the reeds
On the banks of the great Nile
Held together by the hand of God
Till the time His chosen messenger comes by
Mighty little Ark sitting black and tall
Under the watchful eye of a little girl
On a divine assignment,
Precious cargo, a savior in the basket
Mighty little Ark preserving a generation
Like the first ark that preserved mankind
Smaller in stature but no smaller in significance
Delivering the deliverer of Israel, safeguarding our Lord’s future birth!
